An old joke: Moisha asks God again and again to let him win the lottery. Year after year Moisha prays earnestly for this fully believing that it will happen. One day Moisha passes away and arrives at the pearly gates. There he is able to ask God about the matter that he has prayed so many years to receive.
He says, "Why, God? I prayed every day. I believed that it would happen. Now I am here and there is no longer a chance to win. What did I do wrong?"
God replied, "Moisha, you had to meet me half way. You could have bought at least one ticket!"
I have spent my life praying and wishing for many good things to happen. When bad things happen or even neutral things, I just chalk it up to fate. Or, I start another project and give up on the dream. Instead, the secret is to take some action, knowing that my dream goal will happen. I must take some action in that direction. Like Moisha, buy a ticket, talk positive, make a change in the road, move in the direction of my dreams. Do something each day.
