As I walked out of the bank today, a older man held the door for an elderly lady who was obviously struggling with her walker as she approached the door. We both stopped and let her proceed out the door ahead of us. The older man held the door open for her and likewise held it for me as I came out next. I jokingly said, "You'll be there all day opening the door. Two women now, but there are more coming. Thank you. There isn't any courtesy anymore, so you really notice when it happens."
He replied, "Well, yes, maybe there just isn't as much courtesy as there should be."
I got in my car saying, "I agree. Have a great day!"
That simple look at the situation was a very good and lucky thought. It's not that there isn't any courtesy as I had said, just "not enough" as he had said. I think I learned something today. It is a good and lucky day.
I hope someone opens a door for you today, too.
