So, we pulled into the parking lot last night and I was thinking, "I always get a spot close to the door" and my friend was thinking, "Oh, no. We'll never get a spot." Now, when it is -20 degrees this is really important stuff. So, seconds passed and I pulled into a spot right next to the door.
I've always been lucky at getting a parking spot, all my life. I was told that I was always lucky and I began to believe it many years ago. Why? I wanted to know. I don't think, I'm going to be lucky at finding a parking spot. Instead, I think a spot will open for me as usually, I just have to focus.
I watched my unlucky friends find parking spots and I observed what I did when searching for parking spots. It is really no surprise - I scan in anticipation of the perfect spot. I'm not looking at how full the lot is, I'm looking at who is going to kindly pull out in time for me to pull in. I look for the next move, and I move with the movement of traffic. My unlucky parking friends, they look at the parking lot fullness and hesitate to keep driving. "Let's wait until someone pulls out," says one person; and, "Oh no, someone else is going to get that." I just move on, knowing that the luck will come if I focus on it.
I wonder if this is true of most other things. Do we hesitate and miss our luck? Do we take so much time thinking about our plight that we forget to keep our focus on the prize? It may be so. Now, if I could only transfer my parking luck into all other areas of my life.
Let's try this for the lottery. For the next 24 hours, think, well, it wasn't that number but it will be this one. Keep your focus on the prize and keep reading this blog. Look up the patterns on the right hand side links and figure out the past numbers. Go by feel, knowing that your focus on the next winning number is better than calculating and hesitating. Good lucky, my friends!
